America the Beautiful

We had to read America the Beautiful: What We’re fighting for by Dinesh D’Souza. I actually found this story interesting. I agree with the author in many aspects of the essay. This essay made me rethink the past and see everything America has been fighting for. America is much hated by other countries because of the freedom it stands for. That is the problem, Freedom and Liberty. Islamic fundamentalist have a huge problem with our system mainly because they do not have the room to breath as we do. They are repressed. Usually when that happens people either rebel or think there way is the only way. Islam is one of the many religions in America, which makes freedom so great. Whereas in the middleast Islam is the one and only religion recognized as the only spiritual means to get to heaven. I have read many books on the culture and have come to really apreciate the freedom to believe the way I want to believe. I love the fact that we as Americans have the freedom to be who we want to be, within reason. Freedom like any other vice can have good or evil. It all depends on what people choose to do, use it for good or bad.I think a lot of problems stem from believing one way is the right way and that is not true. Everyone has a way of doing and believing ,but that does not make others less important.
